Common Questions

Financial Planning FAQs

How much does comprehensive planning cost?

Our fees depend on the complexity of your situation and the services you need. You have the choice to choose between a short-term or long-term partnership. We're fully transparent about costs during our initial consultation.

Do I need comprehensive planning or just a one-time consultation?

If you have a straightforward question or just need a benefits report before retirement, a one-time consultation may be sufficient. Comprehensive planning is best for those who want a roadmap to reach their financial goals before and after retirement.

How is comprehensive planning different from your free workshop?

The free workshop provides education about federal benefits that applies to all attendees. Comprehensive planning is personalized to your specific situation, includes investment management, and provides ongoing guidance rather than a single educational event.

What is a fiduciary and why does it matter?

A fiduciary is required to act in your best interest. Many financial salespeople only need to recommend "suitable" products, even if better options exist. As fiduciaries, we must put your interests above our own.

Will you manage my TSP directly?

We provide allocation recommendations and guidance for your TSP, but you execute the changes since TSP doesn't allow third-party management. For outside accounts (IRAs, brokerage accounts), we can manage investments directly with your authorization.
